About the Village Cemetery

From the Easton Cemetery Commission

The Easton Cemetery Commission would like to thank Fairis Bliss for his recent work in updating our Cemetery records. Fairis made multiple trips to Pine Grove Cemetery and South Easton Cemetery and greatly increased the number of records available to the public. Recently, Fairis has been updating information for Immaculate Conception Cemetery. The Commission would like to thank Melanie Deware, who during 2009 and 2010, as Clerk of the Cemetery Commission, spent many hours visiting Easton's cemeteries in order to increase the number of records in the database and verify information. Due to stone conditions, there may be some discrepancies in the data contained herein. Every effort has been made to verify the contents of the database, including cross-referencing information with a variety of sources. Cross-referencing with Annual Town Reports has been done for the years 1870-1936. All inquiries are welcome in cases of questionable information. The Commission hopes you find this database an interesting, informative record. These records are the result of the efforts of many individuals and have been compiled from different sources. Information has been recorded accurately to the best of the Cemetery Commission's ability but the Cemetery Commission cannot claim or attest to the accuracy of all records. Additionally, the Commission does not claim to present complete burial records of all the cemeteries in Easton. https://www.easton.ma.us/boards_and_ committees/cemetery_commission/easton_cemetery_ records.php

2024 Updates from Village Cemetery Corporation

- In addition to creating this webpage, the VCC has also secured a cloud-based service for burial records and mapping. Data is accessible by clicking the cemeteryfind link at the top of this page.

- The VCC is working with Boston-based landscape architecture firm KZLA and architect Kyle Zick to inventory tree species at the cemetery. This endeavor also includes future plantings and design implementation, with a long-term goal of preserving the beauty of the cemetery for decades to come.

- Further, the VCC has acquired landscape crews to clear brush in the far corners of the cemetery, and a vendor to power wash the wall surrounding the property.

- For tips on cleaning gravestones, please see The Washington Post article link to the left.  This article provides advice on caring for and cleaning headstones.
